L.C. Boyd, 85, passed from this life to the next Monday, April 30, 2018 in Athens. Funeral service with Otho Noggle officiating will be held Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at 4 p.m. in the Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Breckenridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 2-4 p.m., prior to the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home. 

L.C. Boyd was born Feb. 15, 1933 in Caddo, to R.L. “Bud” Boyd and Cleo Taylor Boyd. He married Edith Elizabeth Rogers on June 29, 1962 in Athens. He was a certified welder and a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Edith, of Athens; sons, Jerry Don Bufkin and wife, Teresa of Mineral Wells, Leslea Joe Boyd of Breckenridge, Tracy Mark Boyd and wife, Brooke of Athens, and Jimmy Wayne Boyd and wife, Samantha of Athens; sisters, Mildred McCullough and husband, Jerry of Cleburne, Samantha Pesch of Breckenridge, Veneta “Pete” McCullough of Breckenridge, and Eva Latham of Breckenridge; brother, David Boyd of Breckenridge; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Stanley Ray Boyd; sister, Edna Poteet; and brother, Kenneth Eugene Boyd.
