Leroy Goad, 88 of Canute, Oklahoma was born on February 6, 1932 in Skiatook, Oklahoma. He is the son of Jefferson Wainwright and Lillie Addie (Couzens) Goad. Leroy went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, August 10, 2020 at the Great Plains Regional Medical Center in Elk City, Oklahoma.

His mother died when he was only twelve years old at which time he went to live with family in California. Leroy later returned to Oklahoma, where he met and married his best friend and sweetheart, Rose Marie Tolsdorf. The couple married on December 21, 1951 in Luther, Oklahoma and enjoyed sixty years of marriage together. The couple first made their home in Gotebo, Oklahoma. They later moved to Breckenridge, Texas living there and Corpus Christi, Texas until moving back to Canute, Oklahoma in 2004.

Leroy proudly served his country in the United States Army as a paratrooper, and was honorably discharged. He spent his career working in the oil and gas industry, working for Koch Industries for over thirty years.

He loved playing golf, enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, skiing, football and horses. He was a member and former elder at the First Christian Church in Breckenridge, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Main Street Baptist Church, Elk City, Oklahoma. Rev. Larry Parvin will officiate. Interment will be held at Gotebo Cemetery, Gotebo, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to the care of Richard and Tammy Dugger and the staff of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home in Elk City, Oklahoma.

Cherishing his memory is his son, Ronnie Leroy Goad of Breckenridge, Texas and special friend Cindy of Big Springs, Texas; daughter, Lillie Kay Stout and her husband, Steve of Canute, Oklahoma; three brothers, Kenneth Goad of Kansas City, Missouri, Johnnie Goad and his wife Connie, Jody Goad and his wife Kathy of Guthrie, Oklahoma; sister, JoAnn Corcoran and her husband Art of Guthrie, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Curt Stout of Elk City, Oklahoma, Chris Stout and his wife Tracy of Canute, Oklahoma, Misty Pugh and her husband Michael of Breckenridge, Texas, Mandy Haynes and her husband John of Big Springs, Texas, Bobby Goad and his wife Tiffany of Big Springs, Texas; ten great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Rose Marie Goad; parents, Jefferson and Lillie Goad; son, Bobby Dale Goad; brothers, Jackie Goad, Jimmy Goad, Jerry Goad, and Jay Goad; sister, Jeannie Goad; and great-grandson, Sgt. Zachary Youngblood.
