On Friday, Oct. 30, 2020, Linda Dean passed away in her home in Roscoe, at the age of 76.

Linda was born on Sept. 25, 1944 to J.B. and Mabel Lamb in Cherokee County, Texas. She graduated from Stamford High School and obtained her bachelor’s degree from Abilene Christian College in 1969. She had a passion for teaching high school English. Her career spanned 31 years with time spent teaching in Breckenridge, Bryson, Roscoe, and Woodson.

Linda married Upton Dean on Jan. 22, 1965. They raised two sons, George and Andy, and one daughter, Cheyanna.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents J.B. and Mabel Lamb. She is survived by her husband: Upton Dean of Roscoe; a brother: Jim Lamb and wife Pam of Maryland; son: George Dean of Chattanooga, Tenn.; son: Andy Dean and wife Cindy of Hewitt, and her Daughter: Cheyanna Birch and husband Mike of Orange.

She is also survived by six grandchildren: Dakota, Ciara, Spencer, Caleb, Lauren, and Ethan. Linda has five great-grandchildren and was thrilled to be welcoming three more great-grandchildren at the beginning of 2021.

A graveside service will be held in Crystal Falls, Texas, at a future date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Linda’s favorite charity - Operation Smile (www.operationsmile.org).
