Louie D. Otts, 87, passed away Friday, November 6, 2020. A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 10 at the Smith Family Funeral Homes Chapel, Throckmorton with Mr. Wade Overton officiating. Burial followed services at Throckmorton Cemetery, under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Throckmorton.

Louie was born May 8, 1933 in Crystal Falls, Texas to Ima Faye (Cook) and Sidney Alvin Otts. He married Dessie (Bingham) on August 2, 1956 in San Angelo. He was a member of the Shelton Avenue Baptist Church in Breckenridge. Louie was a former member of the Breckenridge Sheriff’s Posse, and he enjoyed ranch rodeoing.

He is survived by his wife Dessie Otts of Throckmorton; daughter, Bonnie Beene and husband Stanley of Woodson; son, Jimmy Otts and wife Jackie of Dalhart; 3 granddaughters, April Reynolds and husband Jack of Azle, Stephanie Beene of Woodson, Jessica Barkley of Amarillo; grandson, Jeremy Barkley and wife Jennifer of Amarillo; 2 great-grandsons, Jackson Reynolds of Azle, Ethan Barkley of Amarillo; great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Barkley of Amarillo; and brother, Bobby Otts of Alvarado.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ima and Sidney Otts; daughter, Shirley Jean Otts; son, Alvin Wayne Otts; great-granddaughter, Mikaela Reynolds; 2 brothers, Granville Otts, and Jimmy Otts.

Memorials may be given in Louie’s name to the Throckmorton EMS, Throckmorton VFD, and the Woodson VFD.
