Louise Owen, 88 of Woodson, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2025. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 22 at First Baptist Church in Woodson with Bro. Pete Parker officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodson Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 21 at Morehart Mortuary.

Grace Louise Dennis was born July 17, 1936 in Roosevelt, Oklahoma to C.H. Dennis and Bessie Faye Jenkins Dennis. She graduated from Blair High School in 1954. Shortly after, she married Don Owen in Blair, Oklahoma on Feb. 4, 1955. Louise worked as a bookkeeper for the Throckmorton County Memorial Hospital for 18 years and also had MeMe’s House of Razzle Dazzle in Woodson. She loved buying and selling antiques and working in her yard at home. Above all, she loved her grandkids and great grandkids. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Owen; her parents; her sister, Joyce Brown; and two brothers, Cedar Dennis and Gene Dennis.

Mrs. Owen is survived by her two children, Dennis Owen and wife Kerri of Stamford, Lori Durham and husband Rob of Breckenridge; four grandchildren, Rode Owen and wife Laura of Merkel, Brady Owen and wife Sara of Potosi, Riley Durham and wife Tesslie of Hudson Oaks, Sidney Durham of Stephenville; and two great-grandchildren, Miller Owen and Briggs Owen. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Association and may be left at Morehart Mortuary. Condolences may be made online at morehartmortuary.net.
