Mother and son, Maria “LuLu” Gallegos Diaz, age 50 of Breckenridge, and Fujo Gallegos, age 28 of Breckenridge, passed away Friday, April 29, 2016, after a tragic automobile accident.  Double funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Monday, May 2, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Deacon Ruben Castaneda officiating.  Interment will follow in the Breckenridge Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Rosary will be recited at 5 p.m., Sunday, May 1, at Morehart Mortuary Chapel.

Maria Lourdes “LuLu” Diaz was born Feb. 11, 1966, in Mezquital, Durgano, Mexico, to parents Rodolfo Diaz and Juana Robles. She married Refugio Gallegos on Oct. 4, 1982, in Mezquital They moved to Breckenridge in 1992 where they raised their family. LuLu was a homemaker and loved to cook for and take care of her family. She was a wonderful wife and mother and loved taking care of her grandchildren. LuLu was the light of the family, loved to make people smile, and was loved by many.  

Anibal Refugio “Fujo” Gallegos was born Aug. 1, 1987, to parents Refugio Gallegos and Maria Gallegos Diaz in Mezquital, Durango, Mexico. Fujo grew up and attended school in Breckenridge and later worked for JM Construction. He was a good friend, brother, son, and uncle. Fujo was the soul of the family and a Mama’s boy. He was one of a kind, had the biggest heart, and would do anything for family and friends. Fujo was an amazing person who would lift you up and make you laugh. He adored his nephews and nieces and loved playing with them.  

LuLu and Fujo were both members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. LuLu was preceded in death by her father; and two sisters, Raquel Diaz and Yolanda Diaz. Fujo was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rodolfo Diaz and Hermelinda and Catarino Gallegos.  

LuLu and Fujo are survived by husband and father, Refugio Gallegos of Breckenridge; five children/siblings, Hebert Gallegos and wife Mayra Najera, Vanessa Gallegos and husband Adan Garcia, Hedith Gallegos and husband Vedal Mendoza, Ewrik Gallegos and wife Ana Martinez, and Cintia Gallegos, all of Breckenridge; 12 grandchildren/nephews and nieces, Kelsey, Hebert, Drake, Kimberley, Miriam, Nora, Hevelynn, Domynique, Ryan, Vedal, Kaylee and Mariana. LuLu is also survived by six siblings, Rodolfo Diaz and wife Delores Avalos of Oklahoma, Guillermo Diaz and wife Victoria Tobar of California, Luis Diaz and wife Margarita Flores of Breckenridge, Juan Diaz and wife Maria Flores of Breckenridge, Graciella Diaz and husband Angel Martinez of Mexico, and Fermin Diaz and wife Lucial Rodriguez of Breckenridge. LuLu and Fujo are also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and many other loved ones.
