Marion Keith, 86, went to be with his Lord and savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2020. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 26 at Harpersville Cemetery with Dr. Genoa Goad officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

Marion was born Dec. 2, 1934 in Stephens County, Texas to Cecil Claude Keith and Minnie Bell Johnson Keith. He grew up in Stephens County on the family farm on the outskirts of Breckenridge. Marion joined the Army as a teen. During his time in the Army, he spent time serving in Okinawa, Japan. When he returned home, he met and fell in love with Shirley Ann Screws. They were married on Dec. 28, 1957 in Breckenridge. Marion and Shirley made their home first in South Bend and then in Breckenridge where they raised their family. Marion worked for R.E. Dye Manufacturing until his retirement. Marion had a passion for many things. He was an avid fisherman. He won many tournaments over the years and it was his favorite pastime. Marion grew a vegetable garden every year until he was no longer able to. He then passed the gardening on to his children. Marion was famous in the community for his okra, onions and tomatoes. He sold them every season with high demand. Marion was also known for his welding skills. Most importantly Marion was a man of God. He was a faithful servant of Christ and lived by God’s words. Being a man of Christ, Marion helped in the community whenever and wherever possible. Marion volunteered every summer to help with vacation bible school at First Baptist Church, where he was a member. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shirley Keith; brothers, Cecil Keith, Jr., Alfred Keith, Dale Keith; and sister, Elaine Glenn and husband James.

Marion is survived by his children, Lynn Keith, Debra Reynolds and husband Larry, Mary Kirkpatrick and husband John; brother, Ken Keith and wife Cindy; sister, Gweena Lee Evans and husband Benny; sisters-in-law, Jo and Gladys Keith; brother-in-law, Richard Kyle; seven grandchildren, Otho Dale Noggle, Jake Noggle, Veronica Barrick and husband David, Stacey Keith and partner Matt Hall, Ryan Ethridge and wife Jamie, Ashley Mendoza and husband Braulio, Andrew Kirkpatrick and wife Shea; six great grandchildren, Natalie, Isaac and Nathan Mendoza, Carlee Noggle, Gage and Grayson Ethridge.

Memorial contributions can be made in his name to the Stephens County Humane Society, the Breckenridge Bass Club Scholarship or Meals on Wheels and may be left at Morehart Mortuary.
