Myrtle Smith, 95, of Breckenridge, passed away Sunday, Dec. 26. A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29 in the Hart Cemetery, with Pastor Dennis Hall officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation was held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28 at Morehart Mortuary.

Myrtle Marie Smith was born March 20, 1926 in Jacksonville, Fla. to Orvil Lee Smith and Lillie Bell Young Smith. On Feb. 27, 1943, she married Irson Milton Smith in Scottsboro, Ala. Myrtle was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and riding around the neighborhood in the golf cart. She was a devoted Christian and loved to spread the word of God. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orvil and Lillie Smith; her husband, Irson Smith; one brother, Johnnie Lee Smith; and one sister, Elizabeth Paulk.

Myrtle is survived by her sons, Bobby Smith and wife Linda of Grand Island, Neb., Tony Smith of Breckenridge; six grandchildren, Natasha Taylor, Kristen Edney, Vickie Bloomquist, Jeff Smith, Nic Smith, Tim Smith; great grandchildren, Aoife, Loch, Meadhbh, Isabel, Audrey, Sofia, Caleb, Ashar, Reuben, Ethan, Zac, Mads, Liam, Bailey, Sawyer, Collin; and great-great grandchildren, Noah, Maddie, Felix.
