Nalda Mae Cockrell

Nalda Mae Cockrell, 90, of Breckenridge, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 21 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Rodgers and Rocky Holland officiating. Interment will follow in the Breckenridge Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. 

Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, at Morehart Mortuary.

Nalda Mae Bryant was born Jan. 20, 1928 in Rule, to Claude H. Bryant and Beulah Mae Vaughn Bryant. On Dec. 5, 1945, Nalda married Thomas William Cockrell in Breckenridge. 

She was a grocery checker at M-System in Stamford and later at Safeway in Breckenridge. Cockrell was a member of First Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher, worked with Team Kids and was a member of the senior choir and the L.L.L. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Beulah Bryant; her husband, T.W. Cockrell; one daughter, Debra Ann Wilson; and one sister, Marcedes June Oldham Lee.

Cockrell is survived by one daughter, Patricia Lynne Maldonado; six grandchildren, Dustin Matthew Roberts and wife Shelby, Ashley Ann Wilson Charles and husband Darrin, Brandye Dawn Maldonado Wright and husband Brandon, Blair D’Lynne Maldonado Loya and husband Javier, Brooke Desirea Maldonado Adkisson and husband Colin, and Blake Dustin Maldonado and wife Amber; eight great-grandchildren, Brinley Adele Wright, Branson Patrick Wright, Thomas Aaron Charles, Presley Ann Charles, Troy Damien Roberts, Derrick Hayden Roberts, Marley Nevaeh Maldonado Loya, Colt Constantino Maldonado Loya; her lifelong best friend, Loretta Elder, and the Elder family. Love to her special nieces, Brenda Pratt and Kathy Seth.

 The Cockrell family, both on earth and in heaven, would like to give thanks to everyone for their love and support.
