Remembering the life of Johnny Ray Lewis

Johnny Ray Lewis, 19, passed from this life to the next on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018. Funeral services were held on Sunday, Feb. 18, at 2 p.m. at the Wooten Arena, 1298 FM 287, in Breckenridge. Interment followed at Breckenridge Cemetery. The family received friends at the Bethany Baptist Church from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17.

Lewis was born on Oct. 6, 1998 in Graham to John Paul Lewis and Shawna Johnson Lewis. He graduated from high school in Abilene and loved the cowboy way of life and ranching.

Lewis was not only full of life but he loved living it to the fullest. Lewis had a great love for the cowboy life and the outdoors, roping, ranching and being a cowboy were his greatest joys. He had a huge heart and loved his family and friends more than life.

He is survived by his parents, John Paul and Shawna Lewis; sisters, Lacey Arriola and husband, Anthony, and Megan Hawkins and husband, Zed; brother, Bradley Malone, of Breckenridge; grandmother, Wanelda Johnson, of Breckenridge; great-grandmother, Joyce McLemore, of Odessa; nieces, Addy and Kaisley Hawkins, Grace and Charlee Arriola; numerous cousins and a host of Stephens family. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Johnny Johnson, and grandparents, Jackie and James Kilpatrick.
