BRECKENRIDGE — Saloen Say, 72, of Breckenridge, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m., Sunday Jan. 27 at Morehart Mortuary Chapel with Chad Ezell officiating. Visitation was held prior to the service at 1 p.m. at Morehart Mortuary.

Saloen Say was born June 8, 1946 in the Battambong province of Cambodia. He served as a Sergeant in the Royal Cambodian Army and defended his country from the Khmer Rouge regime. Saloen married Savat Meas in 1976. Through immigration sponsorship from Jim and Jean Rominger, he moved to his final home of Breckenridge in 1978. After moving to Texas, he built mobile homes for five years. In 1985 he began working at Ezell Aviation restoring WWII aircraft for the beloved Nelson & Dude Ezell.

Saloen was an avid fisherman, enjoyed tending to livestock and was endearingly known for feeding cows leftover donuts. His other hobbies included gardening, caring for his fish pond, and dedicating his time and efforts to other Cambodian families.

Mr. Say is survived by his wife, Savat Say; seven children, including, Sophin Say and wife, Shannon, Sara Say and significant other, Greg Pugh; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
