Nov. 24, 1964 – Jan. 27, 2025

Sandra Long, age 60 of Abilene, formerly of Breckenridge, passed away Monday, Jan. 27, after a lengthy battle with health issues. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31 at Morehart Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Melinda Lane, Brenda Roberts and Justin Lane officiating. Interment followed in the Breckenridge Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation was held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30 at Morehart Mortuary.

Sandra Kay Iles was born Nov. 24, 1964 in Stephens County. to parents, George Hughes Iles and Martha Lue Pilgrim Iles. On May 1, 1981, she married Robert Charles Long in Breckenridge. The two were happily married for 38 years until his passing in 2019. Sandra loved spending time with her family and they took wonderful care of her throughout the years. She enjoyed watching crime shows and attended Covenant Tabernacle and New Life Church in Breckenridge until she moved to Abilene in 2021.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Randy Woods, Pete Woods and Billy Woods.

Sandra is survived by three children, Kayla Long-Rodriguez and husband Stephen, Kyle Long, all of Abilene, Kory Long and wife Mary of Midland; three grandchildren, Tyler Gonzales and Isic Gonzales, both of Abilene, Dawson Long of Midland; three extra grandchildren, Braxton, Brooklyn and Ausity Rodriguez; many extra kids along the way that called her Nana; three siblings, Bobbie (Tinker) Woods of Graham, Timothy Iles, Roger Iles, both of Breckenridge; her aunt, Clara West of Big Spring; many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews that she loved.
