Santos Villegas, age 84 of Breckenridge, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2020. Funeral mass was held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 21 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Anson. Interment followed in the Mount Hope Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Rosary was recited at 6 p.m., Friday, Nov. 20 at Morehart Mortuary.

Santos Muñoz was born Nov. 2, 1936 in Hawley, Texas to parents Tranquilino Muñoz and Eduvijes Ortega Muñoz. She lived in Lorenzo and worked at Lorenzo High School in the cafeteria before her retirement. Later, she moved to Anson for some time before moving to Breckenridge in 1999. Santos loved to cook, crochet, knit and make quilts. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. In her younger years, she had a green thumb and loved tending to her flower garden. She attended San Lorenzo Catholic Church in Lorenzo and while in Anson, attended St. Michael’s Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Jose Muñoz, Alejandro Muñoz, Luis Muñoz; five sisters, Juanita Baladez, Maria Lozano, Catalina Rodriguez, Elena Ponce, Teresa Muñoz.

Santos is survived by her six children, Juan Arrieta, Elvia Reyes, Omar Villegas, Rene Villegas, Maricella Rodriguez, Marcello Villegas, and many other children that looked to her as their “adopted mother”; one brother, Tony Muñoz; fifteen grandchildren, Christopher Arrieta, Jason Arrieta, Christina Arrieta, Adrian Reyes, Noe Reyes, Karina Reyes, Jacob Villegas, Zachary Villegas, Matthew Villegas, Mario Alexander Perez, Samantha Perez, Joe Villarreal, Celeste Villarreal, Sebastian Villegas, Khristian Villegas; thirty six great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
