Shawn Quintin Johnson “Mr. Walmart”, 59, of Snyder, passed away from a battle with COVID-19 on Wednesday, Sept. 8. Graveside services will be private. A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2 at First Baptist Church in Breckenridge.

Shawn Johnson was born Feb. 19, 1962, in Tremonton, Utah. He was quickly adopted by Luther and Wanda Johnson. He grew up and attended school in Breckenridge. He graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1980. He was very proud to be a Breckenridge Buckaroo and attended Friday night football games often. He was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church and ran the sound system for a number of years. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge. Being included in the community gave him great joy, as everyone knew him. Shawn went to work for Safeway during high school and worked there for over 18 years. He then worked for Walmart for 25 years. At the time of his death, he had returned to Walmart in Snyder. He was proceeded in death by his mother and father.

Shawn is survived by his sister, LaQueita Singleton and her husband Gerald, of Alamogordo, N.M.; half-sister Sue Johnson and husband, of Weston, Idaho; one nephew Richard Singleton, of Breckenridge; and two nieces NaTisha Phillips and Jennifer Welsh, both of Alamogordo, N.M. He also had two great nephews, Jordan Singleton and Jarrett Geske; and five great nieces, ChaLynn McClane, Cassy Watson, BreAnna Phillips, RaChelle Singleton, and RiLynn Geske.
