Shirley Forrest, age 83 of Woodson, passed away Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021. A graveside service was held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 20 in the Woodson Cemetery with the Reverend Charles West officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

Shirley Ann O’Neal was born May 14, 1937 in Dallas County, Texas to parents Lee O’Neal and Cora Holveck O’Neal. On Aug. 13, 1954, Shirley married Randal Gene Forrest in Arlington. At 16, she started working as a grocery checker. She continued working as a checker for over 20 years for several stores including Safeway. Shirley loved caring for others, especially children and the elderly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Cora O’Neal.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Randal Forrest of Woodson; three sons, Stephen Forrest and wife Teresa of Breckenridge, Larry Forrest, David Forrest, both of Woodson; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
