Sue Compton Hibbert

Sue Compton Hibbert, 79, went to meet her savior and a host of family and friends on Thursday, March 15, 2018. 

Funeral with Charles Kuhn and Father DeWayne Adams officiating was held Monday, March 19, at 2 p.m. in the Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Interment followed in the Battle Creek Cemetery. 

The family received friends at the funeral home Sunday, March 18, from 4-6 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home. 

Mary Sue Compton was born Sept. 24, 1938 in Ibex, Shackelford County, to Charles Compton and Gene Stapp Compton. She married W.T. Hibbert on Sept. 11, 1957 in Weatherford. Sue had worked for attorney D.T. Boles as a secretary, for the mental health clinic, as a secretary at Delta Oil and Gas, and then with her husband, T., at their company, Hibbert Halters. She was a faithful member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church and enjoyed yard work, working at the Bargain Box, and going to the Wellness Center to see “The Girls.” 

Sue is survived by her daughter, Sherry Saunders and husband, David of Ranger; sisters, Colene Allen and Gwenda Lindley, both of Breckenridge; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends; and her special caretakers, Belinda Smith and Jane Ann Pichler. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Reba Hibbert; sister, Tincer Compton; and a brother, Jerry Compton.
