Teresa Casillas, age 56 of Breckenridge, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2020. Funeral mass was held at 10 a.m., Monday, July 27 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment followed in the Breckenridge Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Rosary was recited at 8 p.m., Sunday, July 26 at the family residence, 809 N. Smith.

Teresa Casillas was born Dec. 14, 1963 in Mexico to parents Petronilo and Celia Casillas. In 1982, she married Refugio Hernandez in Mexico. She attended church at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Teresa enjoyed gardening, cooking and taking care of her family, especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Carmen Casillas; and one brother, Javier Casillas.

Teresa is survived by her husband, Refugio Hernandez of Breckenridge; three children, Maria Hernandez and husband Efrain Pulgarin of Breckenridge, Laura Hernandez and Mike McGuire of Abilene, Azucena Hernandez of Breckenridge; four sisters, Rosaura Casillas, Sara Almendariz, Maria Casillas, Maria Elena Casillas; six brothers, Francisco Casillas, Ricardo Casillas, Juan Casillas, Jose Manuel Casillas, Jose Alfredo Casillas, Jaime Casillas; four grandchildren, Efrain Pulgarin, Ulises Pulgarin, Joel Pulgarin, Mayte Pulgarin; and numerous other relatives.
