Yvonne Portelli

Yvonne Portelli, age 67 of Weatherford, passed away Thursday, Oct. 30. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8 in the Woodson Cemetery. Interment will follow under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Yvonne Cecelia Portelli was born Aug. 19, 1957 in Detroit, Michigan. She graduated from high school in Atlanta, Georgia and then went on to earn her Bachelor’s of Science from Georgia State University with a focus in Nutrition and Dietetics. Yvonne worked as a Registered Dietitian and was a consultant for nursing homes across the state of Georgia. On Jan. 1, 1990, she married Warren Paul Pevey in Las Vegas. The Peveys moved to Weatherford on Jan. 1, 2023 to be closer to family. Yvonne enjoyed cooking, collecting cookbooks, traveling, spending time with her niece and nephew, and meeting with her Sunday Morning Breakfast Club. She had a quick wit and great sense of humor that will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Anthony Portelli, Jr.

Yvonne is survived by her husband, Warren Pevey; one son, Mark Pevey; one brother, Joseph Portelli III and wife Elizabeth of Cummings, Georgia; two brothers- in-law, Max Pevey and wife Connie, Gary Pevey and wife Elaine; one sisterin- law, Johnna Price and husband Monte; one grandson, Kelly Pevey and wife Catalina; three great-grandchildren, Kayden Pevey, Riley Pevey, Myla Pevey; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
