Catching up

I don’t think it can be done. I have come to terms with the fact that I may never catch up.›

The Woodson JH OAP performed for the public on Monday, Nov. 12, and their contest was Tuesday. Congratulations. Third place. Savanna Sullivan won Best Actress. Nathan Hewlett won All-Star Cast. Lainey Townsley and Jaidyn Lynn won Honorable Mention All Star Cast. Way to go thespians. Thank you to the eighth graders for participating and kudos to Kolin Dalton for crew and to Hunter Bleeker for lights. Brody Mathiews, Nolan Dalton and Arianna Priddy were also in the play.›

Junior High UIL will be held the first week of December. Thanks for supporting the kids in these endeavors.

Happy Birthday to Claire Marie Ellis, and Jennifer Mathiews. And, Jeff Mathiews, and Margaret Mathiews. And, Mitchell Harris, Delores Peacock. Happy Birthday to Elwana and Jean.

Grandparents luncheon was held on Nov. 15› at the Woodson ISD Cafeteria.

The Woodson Cowboys have secured their spot in the playoffs. The first game is Nov. 16. The Cowboys face off against Leuders Avoca in Knox City at 7:30 p.m.

The PTA met last Monday, just before the OAP. The next meeting will be held on Dec. 5. Bring an ornament to exchange. The meeting will be in the library instead of the cafeteria.

The Woodson FFA competed at the district level on Wednesday, Nov. 14. The Ag Advocacy Team, the Farm Broadcasting Team and Creed Speaker, Kylie Deaton, all advanced to the area level. The Public Relations Team places third. Congratulations.

Basketball has begun. The Cowgirls dribbled against Rule for the season opener. The Woodson Junior High Tournament was Nov. 17. The Woodson High School Tournament will be Nov. 29 through Dec. 1.

The Thanksgiving Holidays will begin on Nov. 21 and kids will return to school on Monday, Nov. 26.›

There will be some benchmark testing going on the few days before Thanksgiving, so it’s important the kids be at school. It is always important that the kids be at school.

The Woodson NHS completed its food drive Nov. 16.›

Earlene Bellah said it was okay to take her out of the paper. I have heard that Baby Jarett in Graham is doing well. “Aunt Lola” was allowed to go home this week.

Please›pray for Kelcey Cruser, while he is away serving our country. Pray for all military and our nation. Please pray for our school, educators, students, and community.

Mayor Mathiews … well, he said something about the politicians, but I have forgotten — maybe it wasn’t “politicianally” correct?› Sorry, Mayor. I will work on that memory.

I saw Charlie Jones making a few laps around the hay field before the freeze. It may rain.
