I missed Milford Hoskins birthday. Belated Happy Birthday, Milford. I will be on time next year.

Speaking of treats and tricks, Happy Birthday to Melissa Vickers. Happy Birthday to Burl Moses, and Patricia Harris, and Nanci Baxley and Mary O’Dell.

Thank you to the Woodson Volunteer Fire Department for providing the pizza and making Halloween a special evening for our kids.

The Cowboys play their final home game on Nov. 9. The JH Cowboys face Throckmorton sometime soon.

The Church of Christ will host the Fifth Quarter on Nov. 9. Thank you to the FCC for hosting on Nov. 2.

Veterans Day is fast approaching. There will be a service for Veterans at 10 a.m. Nov. 12 at the Throckmorton County Courthouse. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend. Major (Ret) Paul W. Harris, II will be the keynote speaker. All veterans will be honored. For information, contact Paul Allen.

FFA Fall LDE (Leadership Development Events) began last week.

Basketball has begun.

Thank you to all who were asked and able to donate to the 4H scavenger hunt on Nov. 8.

Mayor Mathiews said he ran into another mayor and while visiting, the other guy said he had some upset constituents. Mayor Mathiews looked at him and said he sometimes had that problem. The other mayor commented to Mayor Mathiews, “I don’t know why they’re upset; we don’t do nothing.”
