The Woodson Women’s Cross Country Team made their appearance at the regional competition that was moved to Dallas due to the rain. The team placed eighth, with Hannah Miller four spots out of advancing. Great season.

They’ll be back for their next appearance at “Woodson Cowboy Stadium” on Nov. 2. The Fifth Quarter will be at the FCC. That’s the white church in the middle of town. Then, at the last home game, the Fifth Quarter is back at the Church of Christ.

The volleyball girls made their last appearance of the season in Moran, on Oct. 23.

Basketball has begun.

Send a few extra prayers for Alene Forrest.

I inadvertently left Janice Davenport out of the paper last week, but please pray for her healing. Janice fell at church a couple weeks ago and spent several days in Abilene and then at Throckmorton for rehab.

Please pray for Dale Deaton, Senior. He’s here in Woodson recuperating from a hospital stay.

Add my momma, Dr. Thora Thurn, to the list.

Please continue your prayers for June and Arliss Willingham, Johnny Vickers, Greg Dunlap, Kay and Teddy, Earlene Bellah, Rusty Caraway, Terry Armstrong, Vicki Sadler, Annette Harper, Lee Cannon, Ashlee Gray, Alene Forrest, Minerva Whitfield, Otis Hibbitts, Bruce and Keron Kinyon, Jeanie Stoker, Novella Gilbreath, Pam Allen, Mae and Keith Boyd, Dee and Carolyn Tate, Arie Herring, Jean Brockman, Alex and Marilyn Dickie, Barbara and LB Atkinson, Bill Thompson and Treon, Linda Dean, Modelle Ellis, David Baxley, Baby Jarett, “Aunt Lola,” Charlene and Odell Kite, and Felicia Gotschall.

The next Throckmorton County 4H meeting is Nov. 8, the meeting is in Woodson.

However, 4H members had the “Poo Bingo” booths, the “Go Fish” Booth and wreath sales at the Halloween carnival in Throckmorton on Saturday, Oct. 27. There may be a scavenger hunt in Woodson for Thanksgiving dinner foods on Nov. 8, so stock the pantries. The kids will only gather 1 or two items at each house.

Make an appearance and use your right to vote.

Trick or Treaters make their appearance tonight. Happy Halloween.

Mayor Mathiews kept his appearances up while enjoying the sunshine and all the goodness the rain brought, saying, “Life just can’t get any better.”
