Organized Chaos

Wed, 01/16/2019 - 12:00 am

There’s nothing quite like a baby goat. We have

15.

Get ready. The second Annual Woodson Community Cinco De Mayo Garage Sale will be held from 8 a.m. through noon, on Saturday, May 4, 2019. Oooooh, the goodies are already stacking up. Call early to get put on the map. April will work.

May 4 is also the day the junior class picked for prom.

Major stock shows begin with Fort Worth the last part of January. Good luck, exhibitors.

We have a “Mini-Bike” Gang in Woodson. You guys be careful out there.

Seen Bigfoot lately?

What good books are you reading? Sixth grade is about to read “Call of the Wild,” and the seventh and eighth graders are reading “Of Mice and Men.” Two classics. I can’t wait.

Mayor Mathiews, I will find you, so have a quote ready for next week.

Keep those umbrellas and mud boots handy. One never knows about Woodson weather.

Need a haircut? Call Amber.

Spring will bring new music to Sullivans.

UIL OAP is underway. The cast and crew are working on the stage and on lines.

Training for high school UIL Academics is also underway.

Egg production is picking up as the days grow longer. No, we do not milk our chickens.

Sarah Ellis had toe surgery and it went well. I went down to Austin and took care of her for about 24 hours.

The next 4H meeting is Feb. 14, at the Youth Center in Throckmorton.

The new portables at the school are coming along and will be in use soon.

District basketball is in full swing.

We are sorry that Margaret and JC lost “Buster.” He was a good dog and a great friend.

Please pray for Alene Forest, Matt Bomhoff, Pie Brown, Frankie and Minerva Whitfield, Dale Deaton, Sr., Janice Davenport, June and Arliss Willingham, Greg Dunlap, Otis and Delora Hibbitts, Bruce and Keron Kinyon, Jeanie and Johnny Stoker, Novella Gilbreath, Lee Cannon, Vicki Sadler, Annette Harper, Dee and Carolyn Tate, Bill and Treon Thompson, Jean Brockman, Alex and Marilyn Dickie, Barbara and LB Atkinson, Linda Dean, Dr. Thora Thurn, Modelle Ellis, and Charlene and Odell Kite, Kelly Pate, Pam Allen, Earlene Bellah, Linda Northam, Martha Brown, Teddy and Kay Clark, Terry Armstrong and Kelcey Cruser, who is currently deployed.

Let’s celebrate some birthdays. Dusty O’Dell, Gary Hagle, Gordon Thomas, Richard Sullivan, Seth Brockman, and Rhonda Brockman: you are all officially one year older. Happy birthday.

Somehow, the above “organized chaos” represents life here in Woodson. We go from the moment the alarm sounds to the moment our eyes won’t stay open another minute. Anything that comes up, we try to “get ‘er dun.” It may seem random to most, but life isn’t always a checklist — at least not one that can be followed in order. I do believe that if we set our priorities properly, that we can be successful, even when things seem mixed up and crazy. Chaos isn’t always bad — especially when it is organized.

See you in the news.
