Woodson News: So, this is Christmas. Well, not QUITE Yet.

By Tacy Ellis

I don’t do Black Friday, but kudos to all of you who survived it. I didn’t do cyber Monday or even Small Business Saturday. Christmas décor was laid out in October and I veered away from it. I didn’t want to skip Halloween or Thanksgiving. Each day is precious, and although, Christmas is perhaps the most precious, I can wait on its arrival. Each and every day must be allowed its dog, so to speak.

Speaking of dogs, my sweet Abner – a big half-pyrenees dog with a giant heart, is missing. He is white and has an orange collar. He is neutered and has all his vaccinations and is not to be feared. I understand that he could be “gone” but if you have any information on him, even closure would be welcome. Call me or email me. His picture is in the paper.

Happy Birthday? I know June Willingham has a birthday next week. Let me know if I am missing someone.

Stock show season is fast approaching, if you’d like to donate, please send a check to TCJLS, c/o Tacy Ellis, 427 S.US Hwy 183, Woodson, 76491. Thanks for supporting our kids. Rabbit validation is Sunday.

Junior High UIL is Dec.

5. Ready Writing was held on Monday, Dec. 3. Thanks for supporting the kids in these endeavors.

Congratulations to the Woodson FFA for winning the Fall Leadership Development Events Sweepsome good news.

Terry Armstrong also received good news but will be having some surgery soon.

Heather Mathiews fell and has a severe sprain, please pray for her, as little Kaiser needs an active mom.

Please offer prayers for Kay and Teddy Clark, Felicia Gotschall, Dale Deaton, Sr., Janice Davenport, Greg Dunlap, June and Arliss Willingham, Rusty Caraway, Vicki Sadler, Annette Harper, Lee Cannon, Ashlee Gray, Minerva Whitfield, Otis Hibbitts, Bruce and Keron Kinyon, Jeanie Stoker, Novella Gilbreath, Mae and Keith Boyd, Dee and Carolyn Tate, Bill Thompson and Treon, Arie Herring, Jean Brockman, Alex and Marilyn Dickie, Barbara and LB Atkinson, Linda Dean, Dr. Thora Thurn, Modelle Ellis, David Baxley, and Charlene and Odell Kite.

Please pray for Kelcey Cruser, and pray for all military and our nation. Please pray for our school, educators, students, and community.

Mayor Mathiews? Can we talk?

Some of you have been asking about the Christmas Eve Service, I will ask the churches and see what’s up and post it here next week.

December started this week. Christmas is coming. As we prepare, let us dwell on its true meaning. Material gifts are nice, but fulfillment comes from the true meaning. “God bless us, every one.”

If you have a memory to share, birthdays, anniversaries or any news, send it to tacylte@gmail.com.

stakes at the district level.

The Woodson High School Basketball Tournament is in its second day. Championship games are Saturday, sometime after 4 p.m.

The Cow Country Christmas will be held on Dec. 12, at the Throckmorton County show barn. More good stuff.

Want to go caroling? 4H has you covered. Dec. 15 at Throckmorton County Courthouse. Everyone is invited. Then, the 4Hers, will ride a “caroling wagon” of some sort to the Youth Center for their Christmas party, which is the meeting for December. A can of food is 4H admission. If you would like to bring food to the caroling, 4Hers will collect it and deliver it to the county food pantry. I hear the pantry is low on soup and fruits, especially.

Please pray for Kelly Pate. She is our dispatcher and a mom, a wife, a neighbor and my friend. She had emergency surgery last Tuesday. She is home now.

Still need extra prayers for Alene Forrest but it seems new treatment is helping a little.
