Woodson News: Engagements, Anniversaries, Competitions and More!

Congratulations are in order for Dusty O’Dell and his bride to be, Lana McNeill! That’s right! It’s an engagement. So exciting. Congratulations, Dusty and Lana! Congratulations to their families. Watch the news for exclusive information on the official announcement and future plans.

Happy Anniversary to Keron and Bruce Kinyon. Is this one number 51?

The VFD had more calls this week. Come on, rain. Don’t hold back. Fill the tanks.

The Cowgirls defeated Moran on Saturday. Come see them in action. The varsity and junior varsity play this Saturday, at Hawley, beginning at 11 a.m.

The JH Cowgirls kicked off their volleyball season on Tuesday, Sept. 1 in Albany.

We have school this Friday. And, we have school next Friday, Sept. 11.

There will be a pep rally at 7:45 a.m. this Friday, Sept. 4 for the Woodson Cowboys. Thank you, Cowboy Cheerleaders. The rally will be on the football field.

This Friday, the Cowboys will face Rotan at 7:30 PM, right here in Woodson. Y’all come on out to the game.

FFA kids are showing at the West Texas Fair and Rodeo. The cattle moved in on September third. Kylie Deaton, Myia Jackson and Claire Ellis are competing virtually in the State Fair of Texas speaking contest. Cross your fingers that they make the finals.

Dove Season kicks off on September 5th.

Monday, September 7, is Labor Day. It is a school holiday.

Wednesday, Sept. 9, the Woodson FBC will kick of its youth meetings. They will be meeting about “Relationship Goals.” It is a video series.

Friday the 11th is another home football game and another Friday in school.

The junior high oneact-play cast and crew meet Mondays, when we are in school. Next week we meet on Wednesday, Sept 9, from 4:15-5:15 p.m.

The “Backpack Club” met Monday. If you would like to donate, you may send your donation to the school, just label it for the “Backpacks.”

Want to donate to the library for purchase of new books, that opportunity is always there. Send a donation to the school, labeled “Library.”

Fish Night is back. The Woodson Inn will open on the first Saturday evening in September, the 5th, for all you can eat fish, AND the Music on the Patio is back, too! The Piano Man will kick off the Fall of 2020 Season! Hooray.
