Wed, 04/21/2021 - 5:00 am

Breckenridge High School can be extremely proud of the boys’ and girls’ track teams who competed on a dreary weather day for the Area Track Meet on Thursday, April 15, in Dublin. Only the top four places in each event qualify to go on to the Regional Meet that is set for Abilene Christian University Friday-Saturday, April 22-23.

The Lady Bucks track contingent placed third overall behind Holliday in first and Brock in second. The Bucks track team placed second behind Brock.

Kylee Willis led the girl’s team to qualify in five events. She was second in the 200 Meter Dash, first in the High Jump, second in the Long Jump and had the anchor leg of the 4x100 Meter Relay and had the third leg of the 4x400 Meter Relay team that placed fourth. Not a bad days’ work for the BHS senior.

Chase Lehr and Sean Cooksey shared leading the boy’s team by qualifying in three events each. Lehr was second in the 800 Meter Run, first in the 1600 Meter Run and first in the 3200 Meter Run. Cooksey was second in the 100 Meter Dash and had the first leg of the 4x100 Meter Relay team, which came in second and he had the first leg of the second-place 4x200 Meter Relay team.

Here are the results of the Area Track Meet held at Dublin. The Pole Vaulters were finishing up today, Friday, April 16, and Elizabeth Woodward placed fourth to become the 16th BHS student to qualify for the regional meet.
