Junior Mawnika Walker finished first among all Breckenridge runners with a time of 14:50 for 39th out of 175 competitors Monday afternoon, which was nearly a minute from the time posted by regional champion Sydney Bowman of Ballinger.

Freshman Riegen Robertson finished 60th (15:02), freshman Shayli Harrison finished 94th (15:35), freshman  Kamryn Palmer finished 129th (16:05), freshman Lizbeth Escobedo finished 132nd (16:12), freshman Yatziri Trejo finished 140th (16:21) and Nayeli Hernandez finished 163rd (17:09).

In boys action, freshman runner Evan Moore’s season came to an end after he finished 68th (18:52) in the 3 mile.

Considering each of the runners competing will return for the 2018-19 season, Buckaroos and Lady Buckaroos cross country fans have plenty to look forward to in the coming years.
