Tue, 10/17/2017 - 3:10 pm

The Breckenridge High School boys and girls cross country teams look to keep their momentum going in the final meets of the season after each team placed in the top five of last week’s Dublin Dash.

The Buckaroos took fourth with a score of 97 while the Lady Buckaroos took fifth 128  with both teams posting runners in the top 15.

Freshman Evan Moore continued building toward the postseason after posting a time of 20:14 for eighth place. Unfortunately, 16 opposing runners crossed the finish line before a pack of Breckenridge runners including Lane McNett (25th, 22:23), Ricardo Reyes (26th, 22:26) and R.J. Campbell (27th, 22:31).

In girls action, junior Mawnika Wright was the Lady Buckaroos’ top runner after finishing 11th with a time of 14:46. Similar to the boys, a slew of opposing runners would cross the finish line before freshman Yareli Trejo finished 30th in 16:38.
