Breckenridge ISD has seven student-athletes, out of more than 320 selected, to compete in the Big Country Chevy Dealers 2020 FCA All-Star Festival.

The area’s top athletes, representing 71 high schools, were chosen for football, basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball, golf and cheerleading.

Owen Woodward will represent Breckenridge on the Red football team at the Myrle Greathouse All-Star Football Classic. The event will be held at Shotwell Stadium, in Abilene, on Saturday, June 13.

“I think it’s pretty cool to be selected to the game,” Woodward said. “I’m also thankful for my coaches and am ready to attend and play.”

Madison Stanley was selected to represent Breckenridge on the North team at the FCA All-Star volleyball game, but is unable to compete due to an injured knee.

“I feel honored to be chosen for this game and view it as a great opportunity for me,” Stanley said. “Unfortunately, I can’t play due to my injury.”

Aaryn Medina and Gerardo Palacios were named to the North team for the annual All-Star men’s basketball game, which will be held at Brownwood Coliseum on Saturday, June 13.

“I’m very thankful as this is a great opportunity to play in the All-Star game and am looking forward to the weekend,” Medina said.

“I’m very thankful for being selected to this game,” Palacios said, “It is a huge honor.”

Kyle Canada, Sidney Durham, and Kooper Shook were named to the North team for baseball and softball. The FCA All-Star softball and baseball games will be at Angelo State University, in San Angelo, on Friday, June 12.

“It’s a big honor and it means a lot,” Canada said. “I’m ready to go and see what the event is like.”
