The Breckenridge Buckaroos made the playoffs for the first time in three seasons and while they didn’t get the result they would’ve liked in the bi-district round, they had several peak performances from several players in all three phases. In turn, the Bucks had many all-district selections to be proud of.

The top all-district award for District 3-3A, Region I given to the Bucks was Offensive Newcomer, going to sophomore wide receiver and defensive back Ryan Waller.

Waller was a key piece to the Buckaroo passing game, leading the team with 66.4 receiving yards per game and six touchdowns. His 730 total receiving yards on the season ranked third in the district.

For offensive all-district teams, the Bucks had three players selected to first team offense–sophomore wide receiver Cooper Wimberley, senior offensive lineman Brandon Niblett and junior offensive lineman Joacim Ferndandez.

There were also eight Buckaroos selected to second team offense in senior quarterback Joseph Juneau, senior running back Jaime Cruz, junior fullback Gunnar Pearce, sophomore fullback Hunter Davis, senior wide receiver Erik Saucedo, senior tight end Cameron David and sophomore offensive linemen Zarius Maya and Xavier Ortiz.

Offensive lineman Carson Couch also earned an all-district honorable mention.

On the defensive and special teams side of the ball, the Bucks earned nine selections to first team–senior defensive lineman Douglas White, junior edge rusher Hayden Mendoza, senior edge rusher Glen Thibodeaux, senior linebacker Christian Flores, junior linebacker Gunnar Pearce, sophomore linebacker Hunter Davis, senior punter Michael Cougar, senior kicker Josiah Acosta and junior Lesavier Gutierrez (special teams) all earned first team selections and Trammel earned a second team selection for special teams.

For second team, sophomore linebackers Brenham Walker and Tucker Baugh earned selections along with junior defensive back Hudson Woodward and sophomore defensive back Cooper Wimberley.

Sophomore defensive back Truett Trammel, junior defensive backs Crispen Pineda and Canyon Shirley, David (safety) and Cruz (defensive back) were honorable mentions. Tramel also earned a spot on second team for special teams.

The Bucks also had 16 academic all-district selections, given to the players who maintained a 3.5 grade point average or higher during the season. Acosta, David, Fernandez, Pearce, Baugh, Maya, Ortiz, Flores, Shirley, Woodward, Trammel, Walker, Wimberley, Braeden Marshall, Luis Palacios and Damien Reynolds earned those honors.
