Bucks basketball continues as schools enter Christmas break

In recent basketball action Tuesday, Dec. 18, the Bucks› Varsity lost their first district game against the Tolar Rattlers 47-60. Top scorers were Jonas Arellano with 15 points, Gerardo Palacios had 11 points and both Kyle Canada and Justin Bell collected 6 points each.

The Bucks JV lost 27-46 to the Tolar Rattlers JV. The Bucks Varsity now has an overall record of 8 wins and 7 losses, as of print, and a 0-1 record in district.

The Bucks were set to play the Boyd Yellowjackets Friday, Dec. 21 at the Breckenridge Athletic and Fine Arts Facility along with the Bucks JV.

After the Christmas break, the Bucks are set to play in the Eula Basketball tournament starting at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, against the Holiday Eagles, in their first game.

Meanwhile, the Lady Bucks won their game with the Tolar Lady Rattlers 57-36. Madison Stanley collected top points for the Lady Bucks with 23 and Kylee Willis tallied 14 points.

The Lady Bucks are set to play the Boyd Lady Yellowjackets starting at 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, with the Lady Bucks JV and then the Lady Bucks Varsity is slated to play at 6:15 in the Breckenridge Athletic and Fine Arts Facility.

After a break for Christmas, the Lady Bucks Varsity is set to play the Early Lady Longhorns at 1:15 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, at the BAFAF, in a non-district game.
