Bucks claim big win over Jacksboro

The Bucks Baseball Varsity took care of business Monday night on Escalon Field, in Breckenridge, and defeated the Jacksboro Tigers, (6-2).

Ayden Reyes #13 hit a hard grounder that whizzed right past the shortstop into left field, which enabled Evan Moore #8 to score the first run in the bottom of the first inning. In the bottom of the third inning, the Bucks were able to collect three more runs to increase the score to (4- 1). Jonas Arellano #3 first managed to get to third base on an error by the Jacksboro catcher and on the next batter was able to scramble home on an error by the Jacksboro shortstop for the second Buckaroo score. Kason Knight was a courtesy runner in for the Bucks’ pitcher, Flavio Davila #2, and he scored on an overthrow to first base, which brought out the second Jacksboro pitcher, Youut. Cayden Carr #1, another courtesy runner, scored on a passed ball and then Christian Arellano #16 scored and two more Buckaroos were left on base.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Carr was once again in as a courtesy runner for Davila. Carr advanced to second on a passed ball and then with a third pitcher for Jacksboro, Laake, Ashton Reyes #4 was able to score Carr on a hard grounder to center field. The score was now (6-1).

Jacksboro had managed to tally a run in the top of the fourth and then added another run in the top of the sixth inning, but was no match for the Bucks.

Falvio Davila was the winning pitcher for the Bucks, with eight strikeouts and two runs on two hits from Jacksboro. The Bucks collected six runs on three hits and committed three errors compared to the four errors registered by Jacksboro.

The Bucks won (6-2) and are now firmly in second place in District 7-3A, with a (6-3) record and an overall record of (14-6).
