Bucks decisively defeat Jacksboro, 56-46

The Bucks traveled to Jacksboro to play the Tigers on their home court Friday, Jan. 29 with a solid victory, 56-46.

The Bucks started out behind the Tigers down by five points at the end of the first quarter, 10- 15. However, the Bucks fought back closing the gap to a 26-28 score by the end of the first half.

During the third quarter, the Bucks poured on the heat and scored 21 points to the 11 points scored by the Jacksboro Tigers taking the lead 45- 37.

The fourth quarter was more of a defensive game for both teams, but the Bucks outscored the Tiger 11 to 9 points for the final of 56-46.

Jonas Arellano led the scoring with 16 points, with Nathan Lechner scored 14 points and two of his buckets were three-pointers. Anson Rodgers had 7 points, Zeke Castillo had 6 and Jerry Lawson was limited to 4 points, and Kason Knight had 3 points. Rodgers had a three-pointer as did Castillo.

The Bucks are well into the second half of the basketball season with a 3-5 District 7 record and could still turn their season around and claim the number four slot in the standings if they beat the Henrietta Bearcats with an 0-7 district record. The Bucks will need to be on their toes as the last match-up was a victory by one point, 59-58 on home court.. and an overall record of 10-11.

Holliday is in second place with a 6-1 record behind City View with an undefeated district record of 7-0.
