Bucks, Lady Bucks participate in Brownwood Invitational

The Bucks and Lady Bucks cross country teams traveled to compete in the Brownwood Invitational for their second meet of the season Wednesday, Aug. 27.

The Bucks had the better of the two finishes as they placed sixth with 190 points out of 26 teams. They placed behind Abilene Wylie (187), Zephyr (177), Abilene (146), Killeen Shoemaker (98) and Tuscola Jim Ned (98).

As top 20 finishers, Andrew White, who placed 9th, and Gabriel Garcia, who placed 18th, each earned medals.

The Lady Bucks placed 12th among 30 teams with 321 points, behind Santo (308), Goldthwaite (295), Cisco (280), Comanche (268), Mason (263), Coleman (230), Clyde Eula (174), Brownwood (172), Greenwood (125), Abilene (93) and Wall (77).

The Bucks and Lady Bucks are set to compete Wednesday, Sept. 3 at the Hico Bluebonnet Invitational at the Bluebonnet Country Club. The meet kicks off at 9 a.m. with the varsity girls, followed by JV girls. Varsity boys will begin at approximately 9:40 a.m., with JV boys following.
