The Bucks varsity faced the first place Brock Eagles before the hometown crowd, but came out flat and not able to get a basket until Kyle Canada (2) dropped in a bucket at 6:16 of the first quarter.

Shortly after, Canada plopped in a three-pointer to make the score 5-10, at 5:27 of the quarter. Clearly, the Bucks were not attacking with their usual shooting vigor, which also can give some credit to the Eagle defense, keeping known Buck shooters away from the basket and interrupting the natural rhythm of the three-point shots that three or four Bucks can drop almost at will. They proved unable to in this game.

Suddenly, the Bucks briefly came alive with a bucket from Gerardo Palacios (10)›and Aaryn Medina (23), who had dropped a three-pointer to elevate the score to 12-14, at 1:32 of the quarter. Hopes began to cheer the fans.› During the second quarter, Jonas Arellano (3) dropped a three-pointer followed by one from Medina. By the half, the score was 18-31, with scoring by the Eagles happening, while the Bucks were attempting to get through the Eagle defense.

At the beginning of the third quarter,› Medina was able to drop another three-pointer and another Buck got a basket and then Levi Lechner (22) got a bucket and made both his foul shots. It was now 30-46, at 1:27 of the third. The Bucks were stalled at 32 points as the third quarter ended and the fourth was at 4:49, when Owen Woodward was fouled and went to the charity stripe, where he made both of his foul shots to make it 34-59. Canada got another bucket and the Bucks made two more buckets and a foul shot to make the final score 41-65.

The Bucks have two more games on their schedule. One game is with the Paradise Panthers (5-9) in district play. Then the last home game of the season is with the third-place Jacksboro Tigers (3-9), Tuesday, Feb. 12. It will be senior night for the Bucks, at the Breckenridge ISD Athletic and Fine Arts Center.
