Ending on a high note

Wed, 11/04/2020 - 5:00 am

As this chapter in the Buckaroos 2020 season closes, the team is set to finish the season traveling to play the Texas Leadership Charter Academy in San Angelo on Friday, November 6.

The Bucks are coming off a two-game hiatus in which the team suspended district play to better deal with the COVID-19 virus.

“I have confirmed with Coach Matt Jones, we will be playing all contest next week versus San Angelo,” Casey Pearce, Breckenridge High School Head football coach/athletic director said.

The confirmation from Coach Pearce will allow junior high, junior varsity, and varsity football to be played for the Thursday and Friday games against TCLA San Angelo.

The San Angelo Texas Leadership Charter Academy Eagles varsity team has a 0-7 record. They lost to the Brady Bulldogs, 81-8, Junction Eagles, 40-19, Grape Creek Eagles, 42-12, Reagan County Owls, 61-0, Stanton Buffaloes, 68-0, Wall Hawks, 72-0 and have also had a game canceled due to the COVID-19 virus.

The Eagles hosted the district leading, Jim Ned Indians, on Friday, October 23, and lost 75-0. The team’s previous contest against the Early Longhorns saw a 53-6 loss in Early.

The Bucks will hope to capture the first win of the season in San Angelo as both teams will look for the first win on the season.
