Lady Bucks beat Henrietta creating a three-way tie

The Lady Bucks played their last home game on Feb. 2 against the Henrietta Lady Bearcats and won, 30-22, which gave the Lady Bucks, not only their first District win, but put them in a threeway tie for fourth place.

The Lady Bucks demonstrated, from the very start of the game, they were determined to win this one and led all the way through the game with no faltering.

Both teams got off to a slow start with no scores for the first three and half minutes. Finally, Kylee Willis #22 got a foul shot, followed by one from Emily Welch #1 and then Willis dropped a three-pointer to finish the first quarter, 5-0.

The second quarter the Lady Bucks scored nine points, all three-pointers from Camilia Palacios #15, Reigen Robertson #3 and Nayeli Hernandez #5. At the end of the half, the Lady Bucks led 14-4.

At the beginning of the third quarter, Welch dropped in two from the charity stripe due to a technical called against a Lady Bearcat. The Lady Bucks dropped in 13 points this quarter, with buckets from Hernandez, Zaea Ragle #23, Willis and another three-pointer from C. Palacios. The Lady Bearcats made eight points for the score of 27-12, at the end of the third quarter.

The Bearcats limited the Lady Bucks in the fourth quarter scoring from three foul shots, one each by Hernandez, Willis and Jimena Palacios #25. Meanwhile, the Bearcats had their best quarter scoring 10 points to end the game at 30-22.

The City View Lady Mustangs, the Jacksboro Lady Tigers, and the Lady Bucks sit in a there-way tie in fourth place with a (1-5) District 7 record.

Lady Bucks ended their basketball season with a loss to City View. The Lady Bucks finished with a 2-10 District record and an overall record of 4-16.
