Lady Bucks drop match to Eastland

The Lady Bucks traveled to Eastland for their most recent match to face the Lady Mavericks. The hosting team ultimately came out victorious in straight sets, 3-0, over the Lady Bucks. 

Eastland started the first set getting ahead early, but the Lady Bucks were able to stay within striking distance. Despite this, they ultimately lost the set, 25-17. 

Preslie Malcuit recorded two kills in the set, while Kamden Tidwell and Lane Bartowskewitz each had one kill, and Analia Palacios and Tidwell recorded one ace each. 

The Lady Bucks fell behind 5-0 in the second set before scoring their first point on an unforced error by Eastland. They were then able to come back and take a 6-5 lead after three straight kills by Bartoskewitz. 

After some back-and-forth points, the Lady Bucks regained the lead at 9--8 following a Malcuit kill. But then it was a seven-point run by the Lady Mavericks that put the Lady Bucks into a 15-9 deficit. 

The Lady Bucks scored four more points the rest of the set, including a kill by Bartoskewitz, as they lost 25-13. 

The third set started differently for the Lady Bucks as they were able to grab an early lead and later led 7-5 after a kill. Following three straight points for the Lady Mavericks to take an 8-7 lead, Palacios recorded a kill to tie the score. 

The Lady Bucks later had a 12-10 lead with Bartoskewitz recording an ace, and that lead was extended to 15-11. A few aces and unforced errors tied the score for Eastland, before they went on a run to close out the set and the match with a 25-18 win. 

Following their game at Early at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, the Lady Bucks will host Dublin Friday, Oct. 17, before their final two games of the season: Tuesday, Oct. 21, at Millsap, and Friday, Oct. 24, at home against Peaster.
