Lady Bucks fall to the Jacksboro Tigerettes 37-50

The Lady Bucks had a quick start off the boards taking the lead early on, but could tame the Lady Tigerettes in the second half taking a loss 37-50.

Kylee Willis #22, started the Lady Bucks scoring with a steal and a bucket which was followed up by another quick basket from Nora Ramirez #24 and a quick one by Zaea Ragle #23. Willis made a successful block of an attempted Lady Tiger shot. At 4:32 of the first quarter, the score was 6-0 before the Lady Tigers began to recover and make a bucket. Ragle made anoth er bucket followed by one from Aimee Toliver #2 and the score was 10-2. The first quarter ended with the Lady Bucks firmly in the lead 10-4 after a late basket by the Lady Tigers, as the quarter ended.

The second quarter began with a three-pointer from the Lady Tigers making the score 10-7. The Lady Bucks followed that with a bucket down under from Alexi Navarro #35 and one from Camilla Palacios #15 to make it 14-7. The Lady Tigers got another basket and two foul shots shoring up the score 14-10. Toliver made another quick bucket and the Lady Tigers came alive with two more baskets to end the first half, 16-14.

The Lady Tigers came out from the halftime break with a new game plan. They came out like gangbusters to quickly tie the score 16-16 and forged ahead 17-22, with only a foul shot from Willis. At 4:35 of the third quarter, Palacios added a bucket, which was followed by a basket from the Lady Tigers to make it 19-24. Ragle missed a bucket and the Lady Tigers added another three-pointer to make it 19- 28, which included a Lady Tiger foul shot.

Nayeli Hernandez #5 missed her bucket, but gathered in a foul shot which was followed by one from Willis in her attempt to add a bucket. By this time it was 21-28 before the Lady Tigers added two more baskets and a foul shot, while the Lady Bucks were corralled at 21-33 at the end of the third quarter.

At the beginning of the fourth quarter, Willis made a bucket followed by one from Ragle. The Lady Tigers slapped in another three-pointer, a foul shot and another basket and it was 25-37. Willis made another quick bucket to advance the Lady Bucks to a 27-37 score. Hernandez added another foul shot, but was denied a bucket. After that, Hernandez fouled out of the game. Ragle gathered two successful foul shots in an attempt to add a bucket for the Lady Bucks. Near the end of the fourth quarter, Emily Welch #1 added a bucket for the Lady Bucks, which was followed by another bucket by Willis. A fifth foul was called on Toliver and it should have been on Willis. As a result, Toliver fouled out of the game. Reigen Robertson #3 made the final bucket for the Lady Bucks, with a 37-50 final score.

While there were too many bad passes and missed buckets for the Lady Bucks, they had one of their their best scoring quarter at 16 points.
