Wed, 03/24/2021 - 5:00 am

The Lady Bucks ran into a buzzsaw in their second District 7-3A game and were defeated 1-11 by the Holliday Lady Eagles. The Lady Bucks mustered up one run in the first inning before the Lady Eagles took control of the game.

The Lady Bucks had no answers as their bats were silent after the first inning and the defense made six errors in the game, which aided Holliday to score in the contest.

Caroline Turner #7 began the game on the mound for the Lady Bucks, but was relieved in the top of the fifth inning after the second homer was hit to right field and she had already walked two in the inning. Turner went to first base and Jenson relieved Ryleigh Cowan in left field.

Turner only had two strikeouts in her four innings of pitching, allowed three walks and gave up five hits for five runs scored. Chloe Whitmire left her third base position to pitch the remaining innings and had one strikeout. She gave up two walks, but gave up four hits for six runs scored. However, she contributed one of the two hits for the Lady Bucks and Jenna Stewart had the other hit.

The Bucks had a walk each from Elena Beauchamp, Carlee Stewart and Jenna Stewart. The Lady Bucks had a string of strikeouts at the plate with two from Turner of her three times at-bat. Cowan went two for two strikeouts and Jenson also had two for two times at-bat. Other batters that went one strikeout out for their three times at bat included J. Stewart, Brittney Melton, C. Stewart and Elena Arellano. Whitmire had one strikeout and one hit from her two trips to bat for the Lady Bucks. Ryleigh Cowan went two for two times atbat.

The Lady Bucks are now 1-1 in District 7-3A.
