The Lady Bucks 3-3 record in District 7-3A faced off against the Brock Lady Eagles, who sits at the top of District 7-3A with a perfect 6-0 record. It was obvious from the very beginning that the Lady Bucks were intimidated by the Lady Eagles who has run right over the other district teams.

“Brock is always a tough contest, their well-coached and they bring everything they got to the floor,” said head coach Chris Robertson.

“We’re dealing with some injuries and a little bit of an intimidation factor, it gets in their head but once we were able to calm down we had some production.”

The Lady Bucks struggled to find their game legs and had trouble getting the ball past mid-court until Kylee Willis broke the ice when she stole the ball and raced down court for a lay-up for the first Lady Bucks bucket of the first quarter with the score at 2-7.

The Lady Bucks defense faltered throughout the first quarter and when it ended, the Lady Bucks only had the one bucket to the 22 points racked up by the Lady Eagles.

At the beginning of the second quarter, Aaliyah Lawson got fired up and asserted herself into the contest under the basket. Lawson made her foul shots and then Nayeli Hernandez connected with a bucket to make it 5-24 with five minutes left in the second quarter.
