Lady Bucks JV slam Olney Lady Cubs, 13-1

The Lady Bucks JV played the Lady Cubs from Olney since Henrietta did not have a JV team. The Lady Bucks JV quickly dispensed with the challengers in the top of the first inning with two strikeouts by pitcher Jady Gonzalez and an easy out by the JV, at second, by the second batter, who had a walk.

Lead-off batter for the Lady Bucks JV was Mia Casto #11, who hit to 3rd and then quickly stole to second. Next, Charlie Salazar #6 got a walk followed by another walk for Haigen Thompson #4. They were followed by Shaedon Grenko #14, who hit a hard grounder into left field which allowed two scores to come in, Casto and Salazar.

Cara Schkade #2 got a walk and she was followed by Eugenia Duran, who hit to shortstop for the first out of the inning. The pitcher, Gonzales also hit a hard grounder to shortstop and another run scored, Thompson. Grenko and Schkade were on second and third base poised to score.

Next up for the Lady Bucks JV was Elizabeth San Lucas, but the runner, Grenko, was out at home plate from a passed ball. San Lucas struck out for the third out of the inning and the score was (3-0).

In the top of the second inning, Gonzales got another strikeout and the infield quickly took care of the other two outs.

First up for the JV Lady Bucks was Kelly Hutchison #13, who struck out. Moncie Mendoza #15 got a walk and she was followed by Alanza #16, who also was struck out. Casto returned to bat and hit a double toward second and was safe at first on an overthrow. Meanwhile, Mendoza was able to score. The Lady Bucks JV led (4-0). Salazar got a walk and there was another overthrow at second base in an attempt to catch the runner, who managed to zoom in to home plate for the score and the Lady Bucks JV led (5-0). Thompson hit a hard ball into right field, which allowed Casto and Salazar to score. The JV led (7-0) with two outs. Next, Grenko hit to third and Thompson scored while the Olney player threw to first, but was too late for the easy out. Schkade continued the Lady Bucks onslaught and hit to shortstop and was safe at first. Duran was up to bat next and hit a grounder to shortstop which allowed Grenko to score from third. The Five-run Rule was applied in this JV game with the Lady Bucks leading (8-0).

The Lady Cubs of Olney managed to squeeze in one run in the top of the third inning, but Gonzales was able to collect a fifth strikeout of the game.

In the bottom of the third inning, the Lady Bucks JV quickly struck with their hot bats with a hard grounder by Duran to centerfield. Gonzales hit to right field, but it was caught for the first out. Next, San Lucas hit a hard grounder into right field which allowed Duran to score and the Lady Bucks JV led (9-1). Hutchison hit to left field and the fielder dropped the ball for an error that allowed Hutchison to be safe at first and San Lucas tagged up and scored from third. The score was now (10-1) for the Lady Bucks JV. Mendoza was up next and she continued with a hard hit to third which rolled into left field and allowed Hutchison to score, (11-1) Alanza was able to get a walk with the new Lady Cubs pitcher, which was followed by another walk for Casto. The bases were now loaded with Buckaroo green. The next pitch hit the batter, Salazar and another run walks across home plate for a score of (12-1). Thompson was also hit by the Lady Cubs pitcher and another run walked home for a score of (13-1). Once again, the Five-run Rule was applied.

Shaedon Grenko went in to pitch for the Lady Bucks JV and the first batter got to first base. However, the second batter earned a walk. The next batter hit to right field for a double which put a scoring run on third. The next batter hit to third for an out and it caught the runner off base for a double play.

Time expired for the game and the Lady Bucks JV won handily, (13-1).
