The Lady Bucks came up on the short side of a close one, 28-29 against the Archer City Lady Wildcats on Dec. 8.

In the first quarter, the Lady Bucks looked good with Kylee Willis #21, Zaea Rangle #23 and Nora Ramirez #24 dropping in their shots for a 6-8 shortfall against the Lady Wildcats as both teams sized each other up. However, Willis successfully blocked three of their shots under the basket for saves.

In the second quarter, new Lady Buck, Aimee Toliver #2, managed a couple of buckets along with Ramirez #24 and Camilia Palacios #15 to get the score to 15-19 at the half.

The Lady Bucks barely held their own in the third quarter with only a bucket by Emily Welch #1 and a pair of foul shots to make the score 18-26, at the end of the third quarter.

The Lady Bucks got in gear in the fourth quarter with two buckets from Toliver and two from Hernandez and a bucket from Willis. The Lady Bucks held Archer City to three points in the fourth. There were fouls and traveling calls never made, which may have swung the game to the Lady Bucks favor, but when the dust settled, it was a loss for the Lady Bucks 28-29.

On Friday, Dec. 11 Breckenridge will play at Hawley and Sat. Dec. 12 against the Graham Lady Steers.
