The Lady Bucks Varsity Softball team got off to a great start in their second scrimmage of the season on Tuesday, Feb. 9, against the Comanche Lady Indians by winning in a shutout, 8-0.
The Lady Bucks played three innings and got three runs in the first inning and five more in the second inning off five hits and four errors by the Lady Indians.
The Lady Bucks had two errors during the three innings of play. They used experienced senior, Caroline Turner as pitcher. She had three strikeouts in her turn on the mound. Chloe Whitmire was also on the mound for the Lady Bucks and was able to keep the Lady Indians from getting any runs scored off her, with only two hits.
Thursday, the Lady Bucks will play a double-header against Weatherford and Stephenville.
All the Lady Bucks pre-season games are out of town. They will not play in front of hometown fans until Tuesday, March 2, when they host the Lady Eagles from Brock, at 4:30 and 6 p.m.
