Lady Bucks slip to fifth place

The Breckenridge Lady Bucks have slipped from third to fifth place with an overall season record of 4-10 and a District 7 record of 0-2. Their District 7 losses were to the first place Nocona Lady Trojans, 16-75 and the second-place Bowie Lady Jackrabbits, 32-53. The girls have had a tough start in District 7 by facing the top two teams right off the bat.

However, in the pre-season non-district games, the Lady Bucks beat the Clyde Lady Bulldogs in a close game, 60-58. In another close game, the Lady Bucks got by the Tolar Lady Rattlers, 33-31. More recently, the Lady Bucks beat the Ranger Lady Bulldogs, 57-29 and then a thrilling close win over the Hawley Lady Bearcats, 46-40. Probably, their best game this season was a one-point loss to the Archer City Lady Wildcats, 28-29.

In District 7-3A, the Lady Bucks have slipped from third to fifth place behind the first place Nocona Lady Indians with an 11-2 overall record and a 2-0 District 7 record. Second place is the Bowie Lady Jackrabbits with a 4-7 overall record and a 2-0 District 7 record. In third place, is the Holliday Lady Eagles with a 2-9 overall record and a 0-1 record in district. The fourthplace team is the Jacksboro Lady Tigers with a 6-6 overall record and a 0-1 district record.

Behind the Lady Bucks is City View of Wichita Falls with an 0-6 overall record and no district games played to date. On the bottom of District 7 is the Henrietta Lady Bearcats with an 0-2 overall record and so far no district games.

The Lady Bucks are slated to travel to play the Era Lady Hornets at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 22, in a non-conference game. Meanwhile, the Nocona Lady Trojans beat the Jacksboro Lady Tigers, 58-31.

The Lady Bucks are slated to play their next District 7 game against the Holliday Lady Eagles on Wednesday, Dec. 30, at Holliday at 6 p.m. The JV will play at 4:30 p.m.

The Lady Bucks are set to host the Jacksboro Lady Tigers on Tuesday, Jan. 5, on the home court.
