Multiple records set at Brownwood XC meet
Eleven Breckenridge High School cross country athletes set personal records at the Brownwood Invitational last week.
BHS Varsity and JV teams competed last Wednesday, Aug. 31 in the meet against almost 40 other teams.
“Very successful meet (...),” Cross country coach Donny Funderburg said, in a Facebook post. “I was so very proud of all the athletes. We competed like true Buckaroos (...).”

Kaysi Wilcox, who ran a 14:43.89 at Brownwood, cut almost a minute from her time of 15:37.02 at Boyd.

The JV team placed first in the meet.
Jamie Cruz placed second, with a time of 20:35.31; Nathan Oxte placed third, with a time of 20:41.16, and Glen Thibodeux placed sixth, with a time of 22:28.92.
In places 12th through 15th were John Sackett (23:54.00); Jayden Martinez (23:55.25); Adrian Martinez (24:34.14); and Reyse Hash (24:46.56).
