New season, new challenges

Wed, 08/12/2020 - 5:00 am

It is a new season and a new challenge faces all sports teams with the COVID Virus. Some teams will elect to sit out this season and the Lady Bucks may only be able to play a limited schedule of teams who are willing to play.

With the new season Head Coach Kassiah Hudson has a year under her belt in coaching the varsity and knows a bit more than she did last year when she came in thinking she would be the assistant coach of the Lady Bucks. Due to some very unusual circumstances, Hudson became the Head Volleyball coach literally overnight.

Coach Hudson has Anthony Kelly as her assistant along with some new graduates, Kyrah Bailey and Heather Reatherford, who both played volleyball at the college level and will be a big asset for Coach Hudson.

The second challenge will be who will play or sit out this year. The Lady Bucks will only face some of the teams in District 7-3A . The teams in District 7-3A include Bowie, Henrietta, Holliday, Jacksboro, Nocono and Wichita Falls City View. Bowie would have been the big threat in this district along with Henrietta, but it looks like those two teams have elected to set out this season.
