Four WHS athletes heading to state

With the combined coaching of Robert Scott, Caleb Hagle, Karen Martinson and Kim Miller, and a high-level performance, four Woodson High School athletes are heading to the state meet. WHS will compete Saturday, May 14 at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin.

Hanna Miller brought home a gold in the triple jump, with a jump of 35-05.50, and will compete at the state meet. Miller also competed in the long jump, placing 4th, and in high jump, placing 7th.

Miller, Elaina Harris, Kiersten Buse and Claire Ellis placed 2nd in the 4x100 relay, with a time of 4:28.66, advancing the team to the state meet.

Nicolas Romo, a freshman, competed in the 400-meter dash, placing 6th. Romo also competed in the 1600-meter run and placed 8th.

Ariana Priddy (junior), Kiersten Buse (freshman), Hanna Miller (senior) and Elaina Harris (senior) competed in the 4x200 relay, placing 5th.

Baylee Gray, a freshman, earned 5th place in the pole vault. Gray also competed in the 800-meter run and placed 11th overall.

Savanna Sullivan threw the discus, placing 4th. Sullivan also competed in the 800-meter run and placed 14th.

Ella Martinez placed 12th in the 3200-meter run and 15th in the 1600-meter run.
