Three Bucks heading to state powerlifting

Three Buckaroos will march on to the state competition with qualifying totals achieved during their regional competition.

Ten Breckenridge High School athletes competed in the Region 6 - Division 3 competition held Thursday, March 12 and Erik Saucedo, Leo Mendoza and Eduardo Salazar qualified for the state competition.

The Texas High School Powerlifting Association’s State Championships will be held Friday, March 27 at the Taylor County Expo Center in Abilene. The Division 3 opening ceremony will be held at 7:50 a.m. and lifting will begin at 8 a.m.

Last year, Jack McKay, Nathan Roberts and Lesavier Gutierrez represented their schools, placing 20th in the 165-pound weight class, 14th in the 181-pound weight class and 19th in the 132-pound weight class, respectively.
