Wed, 02/20/2019 - 5:00 am

The Breckenridge United Fund is›closing in on their goal of $17,000, with a current total of $15,462 donated, which is 90 percent of the stated goal.

Payroll deductions donated on a monthly basis and a donation by›J. Kelly McColm brought the total from last update of $14,714 to the current amount.

The United Fund Board appreciates all donations that have been made so far that will support the activities of local organizations supporting the youth in the community, senior citizens and various organizations, which are in need of a helping hand to maintain their services to the community. All donations remain in Stephens County.

Those organizations supported by the United Fund includes, Mealson-Wheels, Swenson Memorial Museum, local Boy Scouts/Girl Scouts, The Open Door, Stephens County Welfare Board, SHAC, Dr. Goodall’s House, Stephens County Humane Society, Breckenridge Library, Friends of Historic Breckenridge, Stephens County Ag and Community Center, Girl’s Softball, Breckenridge Little League, Little Kickers soccer, All His Children and the Breckenridge Fine Arts Center.

The board looks forward to other businesses and individuals who may not have made their donations to date and it is hoped that those will be forthcoming to help push us over the top of the stated goal of $17,000. We are a blessed community, but we must nurture what we do have that offers help to different age groups served by the various organizations in Breckenridge and in Stephens County.
