Head volleyball coach Kassiah Hudson was putting her girls through their conditioning preparations for the coming season. Hudson was helped by assistant volleyball coach Anthony Kelley and two brand new coaches in their first season of coaching, Kyrah Bailey and Heather Reatherford. Bailey is a Hawley gal and Reatherford should be familiar to Breckenridge folks as she is one of our own. Reatherford graduated from BHS in 2016 and has been at Angelo State University for the last four years, graduating in May.

The volleyball girls continued with their conditioning with running, and crouching to receive serves and other skills to help them be in fine form for two-a-days which begins Aug. 3-14. In addition to their conditioning exercises, Coach Hudson had the girls practicing their their skills at serving by attempting to serve to specific points on the opposite court aided by players catching the ball at those set spots or knocking a bowling pin over.

The girls have whittled themselves down considerably from the 50 that started a few weeks ago with the summer skills. There were 21 heads in the gym this time. Some might be away on family vacations so it will be interesting to see what numbers come out when two-a-days begin Aug. 3-14.
